Types of Management

AleForge offers a variety of management levels to cater to your use case needs, from if you have your own administrators to if you want to utilize our skilled engineers.

Unmanaged

AleForge sells a variety of unmanaged platforms, including but not limited to unmanaged VPS, dedicated products with or without a control panel, and unmanaged services sold without the AleForge Panel. By definition, these services are considered unmanaged. Any dedicated server sold without a management add-on package is also regarded as unmanaged. AleForge provides the following basic levels of support for any service deemed unmanaged.

  • Physical hardware management and replacement
  • Network availability
  • Support Requests not covered by our Unmanaged Services will be billed at an hourly rate of not less than $150 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments from 9 AM to 6 PM M-F Eastern time. $185/hr billed in 30-minute increments after hours.
  • Systems are deployed with basic operating systems only. The customer is responsible for all software license installs, including control panel installs.
  • Converting an unmanaged to a White Glove Service requires a complete reinstall and a one-time setup fee of $30

Vulnerability Management

AleForge offers a management level in which we retain access to the server to provide monthly vulnerability remediation. Once a month, your system will be patched and rebooted to ensure the system stays secure. AleForge provides the following services for Vulnerability Management.

  • Physical hardware management and replacement
  • Network availability
  • Monthly patch installation of the Core OS patches. Third-party patches can be included for an extra fee.
  • Support Requests not covered by our Vulnerability Management will be billed at an hourly rate of at least $150 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments from 9 AM to 6 PM M—F Eastern time and $185/hr billed in 30-minute increments after hours.
  • Systems deployed with basic operating systems only. All software license installs, including control panel installs, are the responsibility of the customer
  • Converting to White Glove Service requires a complete reinstall and a one-time setup fee of $30

Managed

AleForge provides managed support for all system aspects listed below:

  • Physical hardware management, monitoring, and replacement
  • Network availability
  • Free installation of the chosen control panel is done during provisioning
  • Free control panel and OS optimization are done during provisioning. General optimization is suitable in 99% of use cases
  • Free initial security hardening
  • Free initial accounts migration from the remote system with the same control panel, paid migration services also offered
  • Management of all aspects of the operating system, assistance and troubleshooting of any problems related to the operating system and standard control panel components
  • Best-effort support for 3rd party applications that do not impact the operability of the underlying control panel or operating system. Remote desktop environments are not supported

Game Panel Management

AleForge integrates your server into our Game Panel, allowing you to use it for the game hosting of your choosing.

  • Physical hardware management, monitoring, and replacement
  • Network availability
  • Free OS optimization is done during provisioning. General optimization is suitable in 99% of use cases
  • Free initial security hardening
  • Free initial game server migration from another provider
  • Monthly patch installation of the Core OS patches. Third-party patches can be included for an extra fee.
  • Integration into the AleForge panel for game server management

White Glove Service

AleForge provides white glove support for all system aspects listed below:

  • Physical hardware management, monitoring, and replacement
  • Network availability
  • Integration into the AleForge panel for game server management
  • Free installation of the chosen control panel is done during provisioning
  • Free control panel and OS optimization are done during provisioning. General optimization is suitable in 99% of use cases
  • Free initial security hardening
  • Free initial accounts migration from the remote system with the same control panel, paid migration services also offered
  • Management of all aspects of the operating system, assistance and troubleshooting of any problems related to the operating system and standard control panel components
  • Best-effort support for 3rd party applications that do not impact the operability of the underlying control panel or operating system. Remote desktop environments are not supported
